Working up here on the 22nd floor of South City is a bit different from being on the ground. You get a decent view of Prince Anwar Shah Road, though most of the time we’re too busy to look out the window. It’s an engineering firm, so there’s always a lot of paperwork and plans spread out on the desks. We handle the international side of things, mostly engineering projects that take a lot of coordination. It’s not just sitting at a computer all day; there’s a lot of talking to people in different time zones. The elevator can be a wait sometimes, especially during lunch when everyone is heading down. We’ve been at 375 for a while and the office has sort of become a second home for most of us. It’s got that typical office feel—coffee that’s okay but not great, and the hum of the air conditioning running all day. Engineering is a lot of details, and if you miss one, it’s a headache later on. So, we try to keep our heads down and get the math right. It gets a bit hectic when a deadline is coming up, but that’s the same everywhere. We aren’t really into big speeches about what we do. We just make sure the projects move forward and the engineering holds up. It’s honest work, even if it’s twenty-two floors up. We get the job done and go home.
