Larsen & Toubro

Our place is at B.G Apts, specifically Flat No. 2, over in P.O. Sarkarpool, Kolkata 143. It’s a bit of a trek from the main city center, but it works for what we need to do. Larsen & Toubro uses this apartment space as a local base. It’s a bit cramped if everyone is in at the same time, but we make it work. Having an office in an apartment block means we have neighbors who are just living their lives, so we try to keep the noise down. You’ll find desks squeezed into what used to be a living room and files stored in every available corner. It’s not what you’d see in a movie about big business, but it’s real. We drink a lot of tea and talk about the various projects we’re handling in this part of West Bengal. Sometimes the internet is a bit patchy, which can be frustrating, but we manage to get the emails sent eventually. We don't have any marketing people here, just engineers and administrative staff who know their way around a spreadsheet. It’s a no-nonsense kind of environment. We don't spend money on fancy signs or expensive furniture. We just use what we have and focus on getting the day's tasks finished. It’s just us, Flat No. 2, trying to keep everything organized and moving forward.
