Our spot is on Ahiritola Street in Kolkata. It’s at 11/2A, which is deep in the heart of the old part of the city. If you aren't familiar with West Bengal, the streets here are something else. They’re narrow and always full of life. You can hear the trams and the vendors from our windows. The building itself is an older structure, the kind with thick walls that stay surprisingly cool even when it’s humid outside. We don't have a giant lobby or anything like that. You just walk in and there we are. It’s a bit of a crowded space because we have a lot of files and equipment tucked into every corner. Honestly, it can get a little messy when we are busy, but we know where everything is. There’s always a kettle going for tea, because you can't really work in Kolkata without it. We see a lot of the same faces walking past every day. It’s a very local vibe. Sometimes the monsoon rains make the street outside a bit of a mess, but we just carry on with our work inside. It’s a plain office where we handle the things that need handling. No one here is trying to impress anyone with fancy furniture. We’re just here to do the job and go home to our families. It’s honest work in a very old, very busy part of town.
