Sanjana Hair Dressing Saloon

Sanjana Hair Dressing Saloon is located on the ground floor inside Mridha Market. This is in the Jagatpur New Adarshpally area, near Aswini Nagar in Kolkata. If you live around here, you probably know the market is always a bit cramped but full of life. I opened this saloon because I saw there weren't many places for a quick haircut around this corner of town. It is a very basic setup. I have my mirrors, my scissors, and a couple of chairs that have seen better days but are still comfortable. Kolkata gets so hot and humid that people are always coming in to get their hair cut short just to stay cool. I do not do anything very complicated. Just hair cutting and maybe a shave if someone asks. I spend my days listening to the sounds of the market outside. You can hear the vendors shouting and the bikes zooming past. It is a ground floor shop, so it is easy for the older men to walk in without climbing stairs. I keep a fan running all day long. Sometimes my friends from the other shops in Mridha Market come over for a chat when I don't have a customer. It is a simple way to earn a living and I have been here long enough that I don't see myself doing anything else. It is just a regular Kolkata hair shop for regular people.
