Anu Beauty Saloon

This shop is located at 46, Raipur in Naktala. It’s quite near the mobile store, so that’s how most people find their way here. Kolkata gets so hot and humid, so we keep the fans going all day long. The saloon isn't huge, but we managed to fit everything we need inside. We’ve been serving the Naktala area for a while now. It’s mostly regular customers who live just a few streets away. They come in for a haircut or a shave and stay to chat for a bit. The street outside is always full of life, with people going to the market or the metro. We try to keep the place tidy, but with people coming in and out, it's a constant task. The mobile store nearby is a good landmark because everyone knows it. We don't do anything too complicated, just the standard stuff people need. Sometimes the water pressure is a bit low, but we make it work. It’s a family-run kind of thing, very informal. You won't find any fancy coffee here, just a glass of water if you're thirsty. We focus on getting the work done so people can get back to their day. It’s an honest way to make a living. The neighborhood has changed a lot over the years, but we’re still here at the same spot in Raipur. It feels good to be part of the local scenery.
