Ankita Saloon

We are over at 235, B T Road in the Baranagar area. This part of Kolkata is always moving with traffic, so we see a lot of people passing by our door. Ankita Saloon is just a regular place for regular people. We have three chairs and a small bench for those waiting their turn. The lighting inside is a bit bright, but it helps us see the details when we are working. We do haircuts, shaves, and the occasional head massage if someone looks tired from work. It's mostly men from the local shops and the apartment buildings nearby. Sometimes we have the radio on low, playing some old songs, but usually, it's just the sound of the buses outside. The walls have a few old calendars and photos of different styles that nobody really asks for anymore. People just want what they are used to. We keep our razors sharp and the towels clean. It isn't a place for anything fancy or expensive. We just try to be fair with the prices and do a decent job. If you are walking down B T Road and need to tidy up, you can just step in. Usually, there is a spot for you, unless it is a holiday. We stay open late most nights because that's when the office crowd gets back. It is a simple life and a simple shop.
