Safeways Packing & Moving

Safeways Packing & Moving is set up over here on Fazlul Haque Sarani, right near Circus Avenue. If you have been around this part of town, you know it’s a lively place with plenty of things happening at all hours. Our spot is at 14/11 and we’ve been working out of here, handling boxes and tape and bubble wrap most of our days. Moving things for people is just what we do. It’s a lot of physical work, honestly. We spend a lot of time packing up glass, wrapping furniture, and making sure nothing gets scratched up too badly in the back of the trucks. The office isn't anything special to look at, just a place for us to keep our supplies and organize the schedule for the next morning. Sometimes we start very early before the traffic on Circus Avenue gets too heavy. It makes things easier for the drivers. Our crew has been doing this for a while, so we don't need to talk much while we work; everyone just knows which box goes where. We see a lot of people moving in and out of the city, and every house has different stuff to deal with. Some days it's just a few small crates and other days it's an entire apartment's worth of heavy furniture. We just take it as it comes. It's hard work, but it's what keeps us busy through the week. We try to be careful with everything because we know it’s someone's life in those boxes. It can get pretty stressful when the weather turns bad, but we just keep moving.
