Our office is on the 6th floor of Diamond Chambers on Chowringhee Lane. We are in Room 6N, Block I II. It is a tall building and the elevators can be slow in the afternoons. We handle shipping and freight, which means a lot of phone calls and even more paperwork. Every day we are dealing with containers, schedules, and customs forms. It is not the kind of job where you can just sit back; something is always moving somewhere else in the world. The office is often full of the sound of printers going and people talking to drivers or port officials. We've been in this spot for a good while. Chowringhee is a busy part of the city, so there is always noise coming up from the street. We deal with a lot of different goods, from small boxes to big industrial equipment. Sometimes there are delays at the docks or issues with the trucks, and we have to spend hours sorting it out. It is stressful but it is what we do. We don't have a showroom or anything to look at. Just desks, computers, and files full of shipping manifests. We know the routes and the rules, and we just try to get things from point A to point B without too much trouble. It is honest work and keeps us on our toes all day. We enjoy the fast pace even when things get a little chaotic during the busy season.
