Working on the 4th floor of No. 133 1 1 A S. N. Banerjee Road means we get to see a lot of the city hustle from above. Expressway World Cargo is basically a place where we manage boxes, shipping routes, and piles of papers all day long. The office is always a bit busy with people coming in and out at odd hours. The stairs can be quite a workout if you aren't ready for them, especially in the heat. We spend a huge portion of our time on the phone tracking where shipments are and why they might be stuck somewhere. Cargo is a tricky business because stuff gets delayed for all sorts of reasons, and we have to figure out the solution. Our desks are usually covered in manifests and handwritten shipping notes. We are not some huge corporation with fancy carpets and glass walls. It is just a functional office with some basic chairs and older computers that occasionally run slow. Sometimes the coffee machine breaks down, and one of us has to run down to the street to grab a few cups for the team. We have been operating from this specific spot for a while now. The noise from the traffic below never really stops, but it is just part of the atmosphere. We focus on getting things moved from one place to another without making a big scene. People come to us when they have things to send across the country.
