Saagar Food

We operate out of Kolkata, specifically the 700059 zip code area. It’s a part of the city that has its own rhythm, away from the very center but still plenty busy. Saagar Food isn't a place with a big neon sign or anything like that. We mostly focus on getting the cooking done and the orders out. The kitchen is the heart of everything we do here. It’s a place where there’s always something bubbling on the stove or someone chopping ginger and garlic. We don't have a massive staff, just a few people who know how to get the work done without much fuss. The humidity in Kolkata can be tough in the summers, making the kitchen feel like an oven, but we just keep the fans going and carry on. We get our supplies from the local wholesale markets. Sometimes we have to haggle a bit to get what we need at a fair price. We don't have a fancy website or a social media person. We just rely on the fact that people in the neighborhood know where we are and what we do. There are days when everything goes smoothly and days when a pipe leaks or a burner stops working. We just fix it and keep going. It’s a very ordinary business, run by ordinary people who just want to make a living. That’s really all there is to it for us.
