Prime Watch World Forum Mall

So we are up on the third floor of Forum Mall. Shop 307. It’s a bit of a climb but there’s an escalator. Prime Watch World has been here on Elgin Road for some time now. It’s funny because even though we’re in a big mall, we still feel like a small shop. People come in with watches that stopped ticking years ago. We take a look, maybe change a battery or fix a strap. It’s quiet work mostly. You sit at the counter and wait for someone to walk in. Lala Lajpat Rai Sarani gets really busy with traffic outside, but inside it’s just the sound of clocks. We aren't trying to be the fanciest place in Kolkata. We just like watches. Some are expensive, some are just old favorites that people can't let go of. We talk to all sorts of people. Some are in a hurry, others want to chat for an hour. We don’t have a big marketing team. It’s just us behind the glass. Sometimes the lights in the mall are too bright, but we get used to it. We keep things clean and try to be helpful when someone asks a question. If we can't fix it, we tell them where else to go. It’s just a watch shop. We’ve seen the mall change, shops come and go, but we’re still in our corner. It's a decent way to spend the day, working on tiny pieces under a lamp.
