Asmi Express Pvt Ltd is at 20 Strand Road, right near the Calcutta GPO. If you know the GPO area, you know how much is going on there. Strand Road is always packed with trucks, taxis, and people rushing to the post office or the river. Our office is in a building that’s been around for a long time. It has high ceilings and those old windows that let in a lot of light but also a lot of the city’s dust. We spend our days here handling the logistics and express services that keep us busy from dawn till dusk. It’s a lot of sorting through papers and making sure everything is timed right. The office is functional. We have our tables, some old chairs, and a lot of filing cabinets. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find modern art or designer furniture. It’s a place where work actually happens. The heat can get pretty intense in the afternoons, so the fans are always humming in the background. We usually grab lunch from the vendors nearby who sell the best snacks on this side of the road. It’s a very grounded, local way to run a business. We’ve been at this Strand Road address for years and we’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot while we just keep doing our thing.
