Ombees Caterer

Our place, Ombees Caterer, is tucked away at number 3 Kamar Para Road in Behala. We are right beside the HSBC ATM, so people usually use that to find where we are located. Catering is a different kind of business because most of our work happens in the early hours of the morning. We spend a lot of time sorting out rice bags and bags of vegetables that come in from the market. It’s not a restaurant where people sit down; it’s more of a big kitchen where we get things ready for parties and events. The humidity in Kolkata can be tough when you’re standing near big stoves all day, but we’re used to it by now. My team and I have worked on many different occasions, from small family gatherings to bigger things. We don't have a flashy office or a big sales team, just a phone that rings and a kitchen that stays busy. Most of our day is spent cleaning large pots and making sure we have enough supplies for the next day's orders. It’s a lot of lifting and moving boxes around. We’ve been in this part of Behala for quite some time, and we know the local suppliers well. It’s hard work and your back usually hurts by the end of the shift, but it’s what we know how to do. We just focus on getting the food delivered on time.
