Nik-Nish Retail Limited

Usha Villa at 1/36 Ashokenagar in Kolkata is a bit of an unusual spot for a retail office, but it works for us. It’s more of a residential building that we've converted to fit our needs. Being in the 700040 zip code means we are right in the heart of a busy neighborhood. We handle the retail side of things from here, so there is always a lot of inventory coming through the doors. The space is a bit cramped because we have so many items tucked away in different rooms. It’s not like a big warehouse where everything has a perfect place; we just use the space we have. The staff usually eats lunch together in the small kitchen area. Ashokenagar is a nice place, though the traffic on the main road can be a nightmare in the evenings. We spend a lot of our day checking stock levels and talking to the shops that sell our goods. It’s a lot of manual counting and writing things down in ledgers. Sometimes the internet is slow and we have to wait to update the records, which gives us time for another cup of tea. We don't have a big sign outside or anything flashy. Most people just know us as the business operating out of Usha Villa. We just try to keep the shelves full and the orders moving out to where they need to go.
