If you walk down Babu Bagan Lane in Dhakuria, you’ll find us at number 42. It’s a quiet enough street most of the time, though it gets a bit crowded when we’re loading the vans. We’ve been running this catering setup for a long while. It isn't a huge operation, just a dedicated group of us who actually enjoy the process of cooking for others. We don’t have those glossy brochures or a polished sales pitch to give people. When someone calls us, they usually end up talking directly to the person who will be stirring the big pots later that afternoon. We spend a lot of our time in the local markets picking out the ingredients ourselves. It’s really the only way to make sure the vegetables and fish are fresh enough to use. Our kitchen is where we spend the majority of our lives, surrounded by the smell of spices and steam. Sometimes things get a bit hectic when we have two different events on the same day, but we always manage to get through it. We aren’t interested in being the biggest name in the city, we just want to do a decent job for the folks in Dhakuria and the nearby areas. There are days when the heat in the kitchen is almost too much to handle, but you just drink some water and keep going. We handle all the prep work, the cooking, and the cleaning. It's honest work and it pays the bills.
