New Janata Hair Cutting Saloon

New Janata Hair Cutting Saloon is over in Sardar Para, Kaikhali. It’s near the VIP Road and not too far from the Kolkata airport. You can often hear the planes overhead while you’re getting a trim. The shop is small and tucked away in the lane. We have a wooden door that squeaks a bit. Inside, it’s just the basic setup. Two chairs, some jars of talcum powder, and old-fashioned razors. We’ve been serving the people of Kaikhali for many years now. It’s a family business, my father started it and now I run it. We don't do anything trendy. Just regular haircuts for regular people. The lighting isn't the best, but we know what we’re doing. Sometimes the neighbors come by just to chat even if they don’t need a haircut. It’s that kind of place. We keep a stack of old newspapers for people to read while they wait. The floor is concrete and we sweep it every hour. On rainy days, the water drips a little near the entrance, but we put a bucket there. It’s a simple life. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know where we are. It’s just a small part of the Sardarpara neighborhood. We’re here from morning until the street lights come on in the evening. We have a small mirror for the back view. It is just an ordinary place for a haircut.
