New Glamour Saloon

You’ll find us at 130/56 Bangur Avenue Main Road, right on the ground floor. It’s easy to spot because we are directly opposite the ICICI ATM. Kolkata traffic is always something, and being on the main road means there is a constant hum of engines and horns outside our door. The shop in Block A isn't huge, but we made sure to use the space well. I have some bright lights over the mirrors so I can see every little detail while I’m working. The floor is a dark stone that doesn't show the dirt too much, but I still sweep it about ten times a day. We keep a few chairs for people to wait, and usually, there’s a newspaper or two lying around. I try to keep the glass front clean so people can see we are open, but the street dust makes it a losing battle most days. It’s a busy life here. We get people popping in while they are out doing their banking or running errands. I’ve been at this for a while, and the routine of opening up, setting out the towels, and checking the spray bottles is just part of me now. It’s just a regular saloon where you can get your hair sorted and watch the world go by through the front window for a few minutes. We don't do anything too complicated, just honest work.
