New Dipanjali Hair Cutting Saloon is on the ground floor at I/D-1 on the Baguihati Main Road. We are very close to the Spring Dal Kg School, so we see a lot of parents and kids walking by every morning and afternoon. Being on the main road means it is never quiet. There is always a horn honking or a bus stopping nearby. We have several chairs for hair cutting and a long mirror that runs across the wall. The shop is a good spot for men and boys in the Baguihati area to get their hair done. We have some old pictures of hairstyles on the wall, though most people just tell us what they want. The floor is made of simple tiles and we have to sweep it every ten minutes because of all the hair. We keep our scissors sharpened and our clippers oiled so they work right. On the weekends, it gets really busy with families coming in together. We don't have any fancy air conditioning, just the big fans and the open door. Sometimes the dust from the road comes in, so we are always wiping the counters down. It’s a straightforward shop where you come in, get your hair cut, and leave. We’ve been at this Kolkata address for quite some time now and most of the locals know our faces by now.
