Mullick Shipping Co has its office at 25C on the 2nd floor of a building on Swallow Lane. This is right in the Calcutta GPO area, which is full of old buildings and narrow streets. Swallow Lane is one of those places that feels like it hasn't changed much in decades. We handle shipping stuff here, mostly dealing with the paperwork and the arrangements for cargo. It’s a bit of an old-fashioned way of working, I suppose. The office is reachable by some old stairs, and once you’re inside, it’s mostly just desks piled with papers and the sound of fans whirring. We’ve been doing this for a long time. The GPO area is the heart of the old business district, so there is always a lot of energy and noise coming from the street. We don't really have a big staff, just a few of us who know the ropes. We aren't interested in being some big, shiny corporation. We just want to make sure the shipping documents are right and the cargo gets to where it’s going. Sometimes the power goes out or the street gets blocked, but we just work around it. People who know the area find us easily enough. It’s a very grounded kind of business. We spend a lot of time on the phone and checking the mail.
