We have been here at 82A on the 4th floor of Kalighat Road for quite a long time now. It is a busy area, especially with the temple nearby and all the people walking around. My family started this because we liked cooking for large groups of people. It is not a fancy office or anything, just a place where we plan out the menus and get the supplies ready for whatever event is coming up next. Sometimes it gets really crowded in the kitchen when we have three weddings in one weekend. We just keep our heads down and do the work. The stairs up to the 4th floor are a bit steep but we are used to it by now. People in Kalighat know where to find us if they need food for a small party or something bigger. We don't really do much advertising, mostly just folks telling their neighbors about us. It is hard work, standing on your feet all day and making sure the rice is just right or the spices aren't too much. We buy our vegetables from the local market early in the morning. It is just a normal business run by normal people who know how to handle a stove. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, but our spot stays the same. We just try to keep things moving and make sure everyone gets fed on time. It is what we do every day.
