Kumudini Caterer

Our kitchen is tucked away on H C Sarani, right near Khirishtala in Sonarpur. It’s not a huge operation, but we stay busy enough with the local events. Most of our days are spent dealing with crates of vegetables and heavy pots. Sonarpur has changed quite a bit over the years, but this little corner near the trees stays mostly the same. We don’t have a big front office or anything. It’s mostly just the sounds of cooking and people coming in to check on their orders. The commute for some of the staff can be a bit of a trek depending on the trains, but we make it work. We’ve been handling food for a long time now. It’s hard work, standing on your feet all day, especially when the weather gets humid. We don’t go in for big speeches about what we do. We just cook the food, pack it up, and get it to where it needs to go. Sometimes things get a bit chaotic when there are multiple weddings on the same day, but we’ve learned how to manage. It’s a local life here. We know the shopkeepers nearby and the folks who walk past every day. If you’re looking for us, just ask around Khirishtala; most people know where the lane is. We just try to keep things honest and make sure the plates are full.
