Kds Beauty Saloon

Kds Beauty Saloon is inside the Kristi Kunj Building over in Kaikhali Madhyapara. We are very close to the Kaikhali Crossing, so most people don't have a hard time finding us. Kolkata can be a very busy city and our street is no different. There’s always a lot of traffic and people moving around outside. Our shop is a modest space where we do all kinds of hair and beauty work. We have a few chairs and some basic equipment. It’s not a fancy place but we keep it clean and organized. Usually, it's just a couple of us working here throughout the day. We get a mix of people coming in, some just for a quick trim and others for more stuff. The walls are a simple color and we have a few posters up. We spend a lot of time on our feet, moving between the wash station and the cutting chairs. It gets humid here so the fans are always on. We’ve known some of our customers for years and we know about their families and their jobs. It’s a small community feel even though we are in a big city. We keep a stack of old magazines for people to read while they wait. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but that’s just part of living in this area. We just do our work.
