Our office and unit are located at 1 Gour Dass Bysack Lane. We are on the second floor, specifically in Unit 202. If you know this part of the city, you know the lanes are very narrow and always full of people and rickshaws. It’s a bit of a climb up to the second floor, especially when we are carrying heavy bundles of cloth. The building is old, like most of the structures around here. Inside Unit 202, it’s a bit of a squeeze with all the cutting tables and sewing stations. Sati Fashions isn't a big corporate name with a glass tower. We are just a group of people working in a crowded room in an old neighborhood. There is always the sound of sewing machines and people talking over the noise. We have windows that look out over the lane, but mostly we are focused on the work in front of us. The floors are wooden and creak a bit when you walk. We’ve got piles of patterns and samples everywhere. It’s not the most organized place in the world, but we know where everything is. Most of the people here have been working together for a long time. We just come in, do the work, and head home through the busy streets. It’s a simple setup and it works for us. That is just how life is at Bysack Lane.
