Kabita Caterer

We’ve been here at 37/3 Beniatala Lane for quite a while now. It’s a busy spot near Raja Ram Mohan Roy Sarani, and things usually get pretty hectic in the mornings. You’ll mostly find us in the back getting things ready for whatever event is happening that day. Kabita Caterer isn't a big fancy operation with a marketing team, it’s just us handling the pots and pans. The street outside is always noisy with people moving around, but inside we just focus on the cooking. Sometimes the deliveries are a bit of a squeeze through the lane, but we make it work. Most people in the 700009 area know where we are because of the smell of spices drifting out the door. We don't have a big glossy brochure or anything like that. We just show up, do the work, and pack the food into the vans. It’s hard work, especially when the weather gets hot in Kolkata, but it’s what we do. Our staff knows the regulars by name and we’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. If you’re walking down Beniatala Lane, you’ve probably walked right past us without thinking much about it. We just keep the kitchen running and try to stay organized. It’s a simple setup, nothing too complicated. We just focus on getting the food out on time and making sure everything is cleaned up by the end of the shift.
