Our office for K K Banijya Pvt. Ltd. is on the 3rd floor at 31 Giri Babu Lane. It’s an old part of the city, and the lane itself is quite narrow. You can’t really get a big car down here easily. To get to us, you have to climb two flights of stairs that are a bit steep and dark. Once you get to the 3rd floor, the space opens up into a few rooms that we’ve used for years. The ceilings are high, and we have these old-fashioned ceiling fans that click as they spin. We deal with a lot of accounts and ledgers, so there are stacks of paper on almost every flat surface. It’s not the most organized looking place, but we know where everything is. We have a small window that looks out onto the rooftops of the neighboring buildings. You can hear the sounds of the street vendors and the general bustle of Giri Babu Lane all day. It’s a close-knit group of us working here. We usually share some snacks in the afternoon and talk about the news. We don’t have any fancy tech or modern furniture. The desks are heavy wood and have been here longer than most of the staff. It’s a quiet, steady kind of business where we just take things one day at a time without making any big fuss about it.
