Jyoti Metal Industries

Our shop is at No-53 on Sir Hariram Goenka Street. If you’ve ever been down that street, you know how narrow and crowded it is. It’s one of those old parts of the city where every building is packed tight against the next one. Jyoti Metal Industries has been squeezed in here for quite some time. We deal with metal, so there’s always the sound of clanging or grinding echoing off the walls. It’s not a place for someone who likes peace and quiet. The front of the building is usually blocked by some handcarts or a truck trying to load up. Inside, it’s dim and smells like iron. We don’t have much in the way of a fancy office. Most of the business happens right there on the floor or over a small desk piled high with ledger books and loose papers. We know the neighbors well, and we all deal with the same issues like the old wiring and the heat in the summer months. It’s a gritty way to make a living, but it’s what we do. We aren't trying to change the world. We just make sure the orders for the metal parts are filled and sent out to the customers on time. It's a bit of a maze getting through the stacks of material, but we know where everything is. This street has its own life and we are just part of it.
