Our office is way up on the 17th floor of the Chatterjee International Centre. It's flat number 11 at 33A J.L. Nehru Road. Being that high up gives us a bit of a view of the city, but we are usually too busy with Jalan Shipping Agencies Pvt. Ltd. work to look out the window much. It's a big building, so the elevators can take forever during the lunch hour or at five o'clock. We act as agents for shipping lines. It involves a lot of back-and-forth communication. We deal with the captains, the port workers, and the cargo owners. It’s a lot of responsibility because mistakes can be very expensive. We’ve been at this location for years. The office is packed with files from old shipments that we still keep around. We really should digitize more of it, but the physical copies are easier to find sometimes when you're in a hurry. It's a professional setup but not overly polished or fancy. We have coffee in the morning and work through the list of arrivals. J.L. Nehru Road is always packed with traffic, so we usually come in early to beat the rush. We don't do much in the way of promotion. People in the industry know where we are and what we do. It’s steady, reliable work. We handle the paperwork, pay the fees, and make sure the ships get in and out on time. It's just a regular business for us.
