J. S. Creations Kolkata

We are over here at 14/e Tiljala Shibtola Lane. It’s a busy spot in Kolkata and sometimes the traffic makes it hard to get things moved around, but we manage. My family has been doing this for a while now. We don’t have any fancy offices or anything like that, just a workspace where we get the creations done. Most days, it’s just the sound of the machines and someone making tea in the corner. People stop by to check on their orders and we usually have stacks of fabric sitting near the door. It gets quite humid in the summers, so we keep the fans running all day long. We started small, just a couple of us, and it hasn't changed that much really. We still handle most things ourselves. If you walk down the lane, you’ll probably hear us before you see the sign. We do clothes and various textile items depending on what people ask for. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back. It’s not a perfect setup, but it’s where we work every day. We don't spend much time on the computer or writing things down in a fancy way. We just focus on the pieces we are making and try to get them finished on time. Most of our neighbors know us by now. We’ve been at this address for several years and intend to stay.
