We are over at 40C, C.R. Avenue. If you know North Kolkata, you know the streets are narrow and always full of people and yellow taxis. Moving things around here is an art form because of the space. We spend most of our mornings loading up trucks with people's beds, fridges, and old heavy cupboards. It is a lot of physical work and sweat. We use a lot of tape and old newspapers for packing the breakable things. The office is small, just enough for a couple of chairs and a phone that never seems to stop ringing. People call us when they are stressed out about moving houses, and we just try to get it done for them without much fuss. We have been doing this for a long time. We know which lanes a big truck can't fit into, which is most of them. Sometimes we have to carry things quite a distance because the truck can't get close to the front door. That is just how it is in this part of the city. We don't have a big fleet of shiny new trucks. We have reliable ones that get the job done eventually. It is a bit messy, and we are usually covered in dust by the end of a long day. But there is a certain satisfaction in seeing a house all packed up. We are just local guys doing the heavy lifting.
