Ittalgacha Stores

Our place, Ittalgacha Stores, is tucked away in the Naba Pally area of Manikpur. We are very close to the ground, so we see a lot of kids and young people playing football or cricket throughout the week. When there is a big match, we get a lot of people coming in for cold water or some packets of chips. It is a quiet residential part of Kolkata 700079 compared to the main roads. I usually open the shutters by seven in the morning. The first few hours are mostly for the elderly folks getting their morning supplies. We keep things simple here. You will find matches, batteries, spices, and other small items you might have forgotten during your big grocery run. The shop isn't very large, but we make use of every inch of wall space. Sometimes the deliveries arrive late because of the narrow lanes in Naba Pally, but we manage. My neighbor often stops by to chat about the local politics or the weather while I arrange the new stock. It feels like a community spot more than just a place to buy things. We don't use any computers or fancy systems, just a notebook to keep track of what we need to order next. It is a bit old-fashioned, but it works for us and the people who live nearby. We like being near the ground because there is always some life and movement happening outside the door.
