Indian Authentic Cuisine

Our restaurant is at 82 Rabindra Sarani in Kolkata. This part of the city is old and has so much history. We are right in the thick of it. The street is always loud with horns and people talking, but inside it’s a bit calmer. We focus on traditional cooking. We don't try to change things or make them modern. We just stick to the recipes that have worked for a long time. It’s a small space, so things can get a bit tight when we’re full. I started this place because I wanted to stay in the neighborhood I grew up in. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles. The furniture is functional and the lights are bright. Our cooks have been with us for years. They know exactly how much salt and spice to use without even thinking about it. We see a lot of shopkeepers from the Sarani coming in for a quick meal between customers. It’s a working-class area, and we like that. We don't do any fancy promotions. If the food is good, people come back, and that's how we've stayed open. It’s just an honest little spot on a very busy Kolkata street. We keep the doors open and the stove going from morning until late at night. There isn't much else to it, really. It’s just our way of life here on the Sarani.
