About India Eats Pasta – Food & Beverages in Kolkata
You can find us on the ground floor of Plot No-17 on Basanta Bose Road. We are really close to Asuthosh College, so we see a lot of students walking by every day with their bags and books. India Eats Pasta is a small operation, and the kitchen takes up most of the space we have. It’s often quite hot in here because of the big pots of water boiling all the time, but we got used to the steam after a while. The building is older, which gives it a bit of character, even if the walls could use a fresh coat of paint. We don’t have a big fancy menu with pictures; we just write things down or tell people what we’ve got ready. Most of the time, I’m in the back checking the inventory of flour and seasonings while someone else handles the customers at the front. The street outside is typical for this part of the city—a bit chaotic with cars and people everywhere. Sometimes the college kids stop in just to ask for directions or to see what smells so good. We don’t have a lot of seating, so it’s mostly people picking things up to go. It’s a busy life, and by the end of the day, my shoes are usually covered in flour. We just try to keep things moving and make sure the orders are right for everyone.
