Imran Stores

Running Imran Stores in Kaikhali has been a long journey for us. We are located right on the main road in Biman Nagar, which is a very active part of Kolkata. If you know this area, you know how much movement there is every single day. The shop stays open late because many people come back from work in the city and need to pick up bread or eggs for dinner. It is a small space, so things are stacked quite high. Sometimes I have to use a ladder to reach the top shelf for a specific brand of biscuits or a bag of detergent. We try to keep the prices fair because we know the families living around here. It isn’t always easy getting the delivery trucks to park on this busy road, but they find a way. My father used to help out more, but now it’s mostly my responsibility. We have seen the neighborhood change over the years, with more buildings coming up and more people moving in. Even with all the new shops, our old customers still come back to us for their regular needs. We don’t do any big advertising or anything like that. People just know where we are. It’s a bit dusty with all the traffic outside, but we keep the inside clean and ready for whoever walks through the door.
