Hot Meals

Our place is on VIP Road in the Teghoria area of Baguihati, Kolkata. We are located near Disha Eye Hospital, which most people in this part of town know. Being on VIP Road means it is always noisy and there is a lot of traffic passing by at all hours. We’ve been here for a while now, just focusing on making meals for the people who live and work around Raghunathpur. It’s a small shop and we don't have a lot of room for anything extra. Most of our day is spent in the kitchen chopping vegetables and getting the rice and curry ready. We buy our ingredients fresh every day from the local markets because that’s just how we do things. We don't have a big mission statement or a fancy website. We just have a small team of cooks and someone to help at the counter. Sometimes when it rains heavily the road outside floods a bit, which makes things slow down, but we stay open anyway. It’s a lot of manual work and we are usually pretty tired by the time we close up at night. We don't use any professional language to describe what we do. We just make food and hope it’s what people are looking for when they are hungry. It’s a simple setup and we are fine with that. It’s our way of making a living in this busy city and we just take it one day at a time.
