Gourmet Cuisine

Our place, Gourmet Cuisine, is situated at number 2 Elgin Lane, right behind Netaji Bhawan. It is just off Lala Lajpat Rai Sarani in Kolkata. This is a bit of a quiet spot compared to the main roads nearby. The building is quite old and has that classic Kolkata feel to it. We have been running things here for some time now. We don't have a big neon sign or anything that grabs your attention from far away. It is just a simple entrance that leads to our kitchen and seating area. We are a small operation with only a few people in the kitchen. Because of that, our menu is not very long. We prefer to cook a few things properly rather than many things poorly. Most of our customers are people who live in the neighborhood or work in the nearby offices. It is a family business, and we do almost everything ourselves. We don't have fancy dishwashers, so we do it all by hand in the back. During the monsoon, the lane can get a bit puddly, but people still find their way to us. We keep the interior very plain and practical. We are not trying to be a high-end destination. We just want to provide a decent meal to the people who walk into our shop. It is a quiet, honest life here on Elgin Lane.
