At 6, Marquis Street, 2Nd Floor, we go about our daily business in a pretty quiet way. Global Safety Wears Pvt Ltd has been based here for a long time now. The office is usually cluttered with rolls of heavy fabric and different types of safety gear piled up on the tables. It is a bit of a climb up to the second floor if the elevator is acting up, which happens more often than we would like. You can hear the constant noise of the city from the windows, but we have gotten used to it. The morning usually starts with the team bringing in tea from the stall down the street. It gets fairly warm in the afternoons when the sun hits the front of the building, so we just keep the fans running at full speed. We do not have a fancy showroom; it is just a place where we get the cutting and packing done. Most of the day is spent checking the stitching on jackets and making sure the orders are ready for the courier. We know the people working on the floors below us well enough to say hello in the hallway. There is always a lot of paperwork to deal with, and the desks are covered in sample swatches and order forms. We just focus on the routine of the day and making sure everything is packed up before the sun sets over the busy street outside.
