Glamour Touch Ladies Beauty Parlour

This little parlour is located in Chandi Bariya, which is a quiet spot in Kolkata. We are very close to the Sitala Mandir, so I often hear the bells ringing throughout the day. The address is Cf 201, and it’s a small space but we make it work. I started this place because I wanted somewhere for the local ladies to come and get their eyebrows done or have their hair braided without having to travel too far. Inside, I have a few posters on the walls of different hairstyles, though most people just want the same thing every time. The mirrors have some spots on them that never seem to go away no matter how much I wipe them. I keep my threads and waxes in a little drawer by the main chair. It gets quite busy during the wedding season or when there is a festival at the temple. Neighbors often drop by just to chat for a bit even if they don't need anything done. I usually have a pot of tea going in the back. The floor is covered in tiles that stay cool even when it is boiling hot outside. It is not a big corporate place, just me and a couple of helpers sometimes. We use simple products that people know. If you are walking near the Sitala Mandir, you will find us easily enough. It is a friendly place where everyone knows each other’s business. I often sit outside for a few minutes in the evening when the sun goes down.
