General Stores

People usually find us here on Mitha Talab Lane without much trouble because the Kgn Masjid is right nearby. It’s a busy little corner of Garden Reach. We have been at P178 for a while now. The shop is just a regular place where we keep things people need every day. My father used to sit here, and now I do, mostly. It gets quite loud outside with the bikes and people walking to the masjid, but it’s just how the neighborhood is. Sometimes the shelves get a bit dusty because of the road, but we try to wipe them down when there is a gap between customers. We don’t have any fancy displays or anything like that. It is mostly just stacks of boxes and jars. You walk in and you see what we have. If we don’t have it, maybe we can get it next week. It’s not a big supermarket, just General Stores. People come in to chat as much as they do to buy a packet of tea or some soap. Sometimes the kids from the lane run in and out. It’s a bit cramped inside when more than three people are standing there, but we manage fine. The fan makes a bit of a clicking noise, but it keeps the air moving. We stay open until late evening when the street gets a bit quieter. It is just a simple life here in this part of town.
