Our place, Ganguly Caterer, is situated right near the State Bank of India in Birati. It’s a convenient spot because everyone knows where the bank is, so we never have to give complicated directions. We’ve been operating out of this Birati location for quite some time now. Most of our day is spent in the kitchen or on the phone coordinating things with suppliers. Catering isn't just about cooking; it’s about making sure the plates and spoons are packed and the transport is ready to go. We aren't a big chain or anything. It's just a local business where we know our neighbors by name. Birati is a busy area, and being near the bank means there’s always movement outside our doors. We take pride in just getting the job done without a lot of fuss or drama. When people come to talk to us about an event, we usually just sit down with a hot tea and go over the details on a notepad. There’s no fancy office with a secretary or computer screens everywhere. It’s just us. Sometimes the kitchen gets really hot during the summer months, but that's just part of the job we chose. We have our regulars who come to us for every family function they host. It’s nice to be a part of the local community like that. We just keep our heads down and focus on the food and the service. It's a simple life running a business in Birati.
