Food Cargo

You can find us at 158/2A, Harish Mukherjee Road. We are close to the Kalighat road crossing, which is a very busy part of the city. Food Cargo is what we call the place. It is a bit of a tight spot, but we make the most of the space. The traffic outside is always loud, with horns honking all day long. We mostly do take-away because there is not much room to sit down. People stop their bikes, grab a packet, and leave. It is a fast-paced way to run a business. We handle a lot of orders for people living in the apartments around here. Sometimes the rain floods the road a bit, and things slow down, but usually, it is non-stop. We do not have a big staff, just three of us working the kitchen and the counter. The stove is almost never off. We buy our groceries daily from the local vendors. Nothing stays in the fridge for long. We do not bother with fancy packaging. Just plain paper bags and plastic containers. It keeps the costs down for us and the customers. Harish Mukherjee Road is a good place to be, even if it is a bit chaotic most of the time. We have been here for a couple of years now and have a decent rhythm going with our regulars.
