Our business is located at 8/2, Dr. Biresh Guha Street. We work with bags of all kinds. The space is mostly filled with jute, canvas, and whatever other materials we are using that week. It’s a bit of a tight fit because bags take up a lot of room once they are finished and packed. We’ve got several people working here, mostly focusing on the stitching and checking the handles to make sure they are on tight. Dr. Biresh Guha Street is a narrow one, so getting deliveries in can be a bit of a challenge sometimes. We don't have a big glossy catalog or a sales team. Most of our orders come from people who have worked with us before or heard about us from others. We just try to make sure the bags are strong and the stitching holds up under weight. The floor is usually covered in little scraps of thread and fabric. We sweep it up at the end of the day, but it’s back the next morning as soon as we start. It’s just the nature of the work. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a long time and the locals know what we do. We aren't looking to become some giant factory. We like being a local business where we can keep an eye on everything ourselves. It’s just a practical way to run things. We make the bags, pack them up, and send them out. It keeps us quite busy all year round.
