We have been at 4/5/1 A, Bijoygarh for a while now. It started small. We handle food for local events around here. People come by the shop to talk about menus for weddings or small parties. It is usually busy in the mornings when we get the fresh supplies in. The kitchen is not huge but we make it work. Bijoygarh is a tight-knit place so everyone knows everyone. We mostly do traditional Bengali stuff because that is what folks ask for. Sometimes the stove acts up or a delivery is late, but we manage. My uncle used to help out but now it is just a few of us. We try to keep things clean and simple. You won't find fancy uniforms here, just people who know how to cook a decent meal. If you are walking past the lane, you can usually smell the spices. We do not spend money on ads. Word of mouth keeps us going. Most of our clients are neighbors or people who have eaten at a party we did. We do not have a massive menu, just the things we are good at making. It gets hot in the kitchen during summer, but that is part of the job. We keep a ledger for orders. Nothing is digital yet. It is a bit old-school, but it works for us and the people living around Bijoygarh.
