We’re located in Crescent Tower on AJC Bose Road. Specifically, we are on the 4th floor in Unit 4D. It’s a busy building in a very busy part of Kolkata. If you look out the window, you can see the flyover and the endless stream of cars and buses going towards Lala Lajpat Rai Sarani. Our office is fairly functional. We have rows of desks and a small area for files. Freight is a messy business sometimes, but we try to keep the paperwork organized. We handle a lot of different types of cargo, so the phones are always busy with people asking where their stuff is. The air conditioning struggles a bit in the peak of summer, but we make do with extra fans scattered around. Most of the people working here have been with the company for years, so we’re more like a family than just coworkers. We share snacks in the afternoon and complain about the traffic together. It’s not the quietest place to work, especially with the construction that always seems to be happening somewhere nearby. We just stay focused on the manifests and the schedules. It’s a steady rhythm that keeps the day moving from the moment we walk in until the last file is put away. We don't have much time for anything fancy, just the daily work.
