We are up on the 14th floor of the Everest Building on Chowringhee Road. It is a busy part of town, right near Midleton Row. Being up that high gives us a bit of a view, but we spend most of our time looking at shipping schedules and customs forms. Logistics is mostly about moving things from one place to another without them getting stuck somewhere in between. We deal with a lot of phone calls and emails to track where containers are. It is a lot of coordination with different carriers and warehouses. Some days are quiet, and other days it feels like every shipment is delayed at the same time. We just try to keep things moving as best as we can. It is a lot of logistics work behind the scenes that nobody really sees. The office is full of maps and charts and people typing away. We have been in this building for quite a while now. Moving freight across the globe involves a lot of small details that you have to get right, otherwise, things get messy. We do not have a fleet of trucks ourselves, we just manage the movement and the paperwork for people who need stuff moved. It is a steady kind of work, keeping track of all those moving parts day in and day out. It’s mostly just making sure the numbers and the destinations match up.
