Mirza Ghalib Street is always busy. We are at number 46, and it’s a constant flow of people and noise outside. People come in with all sorts of things to send. Sometimes it's a small letter, sometimes it's a big heavy box for someone's kid overseas. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything, just some desks and scales. The fans hum all day because it gets so hot in this part of town. The staff knows the regulars by name now. We spend most of the morning just sorting through what came in the night before. It gets a bit messy with the tape and the bubble wrap everywhere, but we know where everything is. You learn to ignore the traffic noise after a while. Lunch is usually something quick from the shop next door. We keep the doors open mostly to let some air in, though it brings in the dust too. It's just a regular workday here. We focus on getting the labels right and making sure the trucks are loaded before the evening rush starts. It’s not a glamorous job, but it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. Sometimes we stay late when a big shipment arrives and the paperwork piles up on the corner of the desks. It is just the way we have always done things here.
