Diva Beauty Parlours

Diva Beauty Parlours is located at P 119, Block B in Kolkata. A lot of people find us by looking for the K C Das sweet shop because it is a famous landmark around here. It is nice being so close to a place that smells like syrup and fresh sweets all the time. Our shop is pretty modest. We focus on doing hair and some basic makeup for the ladies in the area. I started this because I liked the idea of having a small space where neighbors could feel comfortable. We have a few chairs and some basic equipment for washing hair. It is not a very big room, so things can feel a bit tight when three or four people are waiting. I usually have a radio playing in the background, mostly old songs or the news. People come in before big family dinners or just because they need a change. I try to listen to what they want and do my best with the scissors. It is hard work standing on your feet all day, but I enjoy the stories people tell while I work on their hair. We don't use any big words or fancy talk. If someone wants a simple cut, that is what they get. Block B is a nice part of the city to be in, and I am glad we ended up here near the sweets.
