Dipankar Hair Cutting Saloon is our little shop in Adarsha Pally. We are tucked away in Gouranga Nagar on Adarsha Pally Road here in Kolkata - 700059. It is a humble place, just a few chairs and some basic equipment for cutting hair. I’ve been doing this for a long time now. People come here when they want a simple haircut without any fuss. We don’t have air conditioning, just the ceiling fans that hum all day. It gets hot in the summer, but we are used to it. The neighborhood knows us well. Most of our customers live just a few houses away. We see the kids grow up and start coming in for their own haircuts. It’s a nice feeling to be part of the community in Adarsha Pally. We keep the scissors sharp and the combs clean. There is no fancy waiting area, just a wooden bench where you can sit and wait your turn. Sometimes we have the newspaper lying around for people to read. We don’t do anything complicated, just standard hair cutting. It is a small space but it works for us. Living and working in Gouranga Nagar is what we know. We open early most days and close when the last customer leaves. It’s not a fancy life but it’s our life. Dipankar Hair Cutting Saloon is just a place for regular people. We stay open even when it rains hard.
