Dalia Beauty Parlour

Dalia Beauty Parlour is situated at 319/71 on Jessore Road in Kolkata. If you know Jessore Road, you know how busy it stays with all the buses and yellow taxis constantly moving towards the airport or the city. Our parlour is right in the middle of all that noise. It is a small space where we do hair, wax, and basic facials for the women in the neighborhood. We have been here for many years. The shop isn't very large, so it can feel a bit cramped when we have three or four ladies waiting for their turn. We have some old chairs and a big mirror that has seen a lot of faces. It’s a typical Kolkata neighborhood shop. We talk about the price of fish or the latest TV serials while we work. The walls are painted a simple color and we have a curtain for privacy in the back area. Most of our customers are housewives or girls from the nearby schools. They like coming here because they have known us for a long time. It is not a place for luxury, just a place for regular maintenance. Sometimes the traffic outside is so loud we have to shout a little bit, but we are used to it by now. It’s our small corner on the 700074 side of the city. We open early most days and stay until the evening chores for most families start.
