We’ve been here at 249 Ashokegarh West for a while now. It’s a busy part of Kolkata, and our office is just tucked away in the neighborhood. As Consulting Engineering Services India Pvt Ltd, we mostly deal with technical plans and figuring out how things should be built. It isn't very flashy work, just a lot of sitting at desks and looking at drawings. The street outside gets pretty crowded during the day, especially with the local traffic, but we manage to get things done. Sometimes the electricity acts up, or it gets really humid, but that's just how things go in this part of town. We have a small team here. Most of us have been doing this for years, so we know our way around a project. We don't really do big advertisements or anything like that. People usually find us because they need some engineering help and someone told them we were here. It’s mostly about keeping the files organized and making sure the calculations are right. The office is full of old folders and computer screens. We take our tea breaks together when we can. It’s not a fancy corporate building, just a regular place where we come to work every morning. We’ve seen the area change quite a bit over the years. New shops open up, others close, but we’re still here at the same spot in Ashokegarh West. It feels like home to us by now after so much time.
