Chandi Mata Kitchen

Chandi Mata Kitchen is tucked into Anuj Complex over on S L Sarani. If you know the area in Kolkata, we’re the ones sitting right opposite the Disha Eye hospital. It’s a busy little corner of the world, 700059. Most of the time, our day is shaped by the people coming and going from the hospital across the street. We’re in unit H 1/16, so it’s not a huge place, but it works for what we need. The complex has a few different shops, but people usually find us easily enough. Kolkata is always noisy and crowded, and this street is no different. We just keep the kitchen going from morning until we close up at night. There’s nothing very special about the decor or the way we have things set up. It’s just a practical space. We’ve got the regular crowd who works nearby and then the families who are visiting the hospital. Sometimes the rain makes the street a bit messy, but that’s just how it is here. We focus on the food and keeping the place tidy. My staff and I have a routine down now. We don't spend money on big ads or anything like that. People just know we are here in Anuj Complex. It’s a simple life running a small kitchen in the city. We just hope the food is what people want when they’re hungry. The fridge makes a bit of noise, but you stop noticing it after a while.
